Not completely a misadventure. It was pure fun except when we got back. All the workload was bringing my energy down so I really really really just wanted to sleep, get a massage, stay in bed the whole weekend and have DVD marathons. But this was an opportunity that I couldn't pass up!
Anyways our Tagaytay Weekend Plan dubbed as the "CTK Plansem" was spent mostly on 3 things: camwhoring, pigging out aka resto hopping every 2 hours (durian chips and fries in the car, Greek lunch with the Greek owner, delicious hot choco at the breezy outdoors of Econo-Inn till sunset, Carlo's Pizza dinner, Beef Tapa breakfast sets, Bag of Beans lunch and desserts galore) and TV/movie marathon (House, The Devil Wears Prada with milk and choco chip cookies, The Mummy, etc.).
The next day (Monday), after I puked every ounce of breakfast I had, but still went to work. I already knew it was because of our Tagaytay getaway because Maiky and Ray had already texted they were not feeling well. By mid-morning, I was already in the office clinic bed, sleeping away with a fever until it was time to go home. By then, it was already confirmed that everyone was sick. Boo! :(
We were speculating it was the mix and match desserts we had at Bag of Beans, or maybe it was a simple case of eating too much. But after Maiky confirmed from her doctor that it was salmonella, the culprit easily became the runny eggs that accompanied our Beef Tapa breakfast set. Damn you Tagaytay Country Hotel.
But being sick was also a blessing in disguise. Didn't show up for work on Tuesday to make sure I have fully recovered so my boss, not sure if I will show up on Wednesday, moved our deadly presentation with the CFO next Monday (hurrah!). More time to fix our "we're-in-deep-shit" status. But I did show up on Wednesday because I couldn't sit still knowing all the work was piling up (and yes I was right coz OT was smacked to my face til Saturday).
Anyways looking forward to next next week! Holidays galore, woohoo! :)
