Yesterday I was able to get an email from Tif who consequently went to Canada to study. She was supposed to join in the JTA thing but had to back out coz her school in Canada won't allow her to come in late. School opening in Canada conflicted with the school opening in Singapore so she had to give up her JTA.
Anyways she was saying a lot of things about how it's so beautiful there--- the weather, the surroundings, the people, her school, the stores, EVERYTHING! Makes me wanna go too! :D
Which makes you think: we really have a moral issue here in the Philippines. The diference between a first world country like Canada and a third world country like the Philippines is with the people. You can observe it even in the smallest things. People here throw litter like its normal while people there won't even dare spit in the sidewalk. Traffic here is hideous primarily because people drive like assholes and don't want to give and take. People there don't need to talk about it---it's already a given that in traffic, people should give and take because it's only fair. The weather here is so humid and dusty but summers in Canada are actually a lot hotter! Nevertheless it's still a better option because even though its hot, nothing beats breathing fresh air. I NEVER HAD PIMPLES OR BLACKHEADS THERE!!! Wanna know why it's less hotter here? Coz the pollution in the air prevents the sun to actually filter in. I don't have to clean my room everyday and it is still dustless. I studied in a public school in Canada and I can say that the quality is even better than a private school here.
So after i graduate, me plans to work in the best company that would have me. Except that after Tif's email, me sees myself working...in Canada! I wish I can give something back to this country which has served me well. But at this point, the temptations of greener pasture is stronger than ever!
My Aunt's family already went back there. When she was here, she was the boss! Everyone called her M'am, Madame, Boss, etc. But now that she's there, she's working in a department store! But she's not complaining. Oo nga hindi ka uunlad, hindi ka yayaman pero masarap daw kasi buhay dun. Me can only imagine.
